The fast food movement may have been born on the fast food menu, but the nation’s fast food companies have seen their popularity grow over the past decade.
A new survey shows that the number of Americans who say they enjoy eating fast food has increased by 6.2 percent, from 8.6 million in 2015 to 9.1 million in 2017.
Fast food is the top food in America by a wide margin, according to the survey of nearly 11,000 Americans conducted by the Food Marketing Institute.
This has not happened just for the fast foods themselves, however.
The most popular fast food dish is chicken tenders, followed by steak.
Another popular fast foods is fried chicken.

Fast food is on top of America’s fast casual dining options, but this trend is growing across all sectors of the food chain.
There are now a total of 1.8 million fast food restaurants in the country.
This includes more than 100 chains with more than 1,000 locations.
There is a strong trend towards casual dining, which is often done with a smaller menu, which can result in a higher cost per person per meal.
The top fast food eateries in the United States are McDonald’s, Taco Bell, Burger King, Taco Express, Panera Bread, Subway, Taco Ma, Wendy’s, Burger Chef, Panay Pacific, Taco Time, Domino’s Pizza, Pizza Hut, Chipotle, and Chipotle Express.
The survey also found that the top fast casual eateries are the chains that serve hot dogs, sandwiches, wraps, and burgers.
The next most popular food for fast food in the survey are burgers, fries, and hot dogs.
There were two chains that topped the list of fastest growing fast casual restaurant chains in 2017, Subway and Panera.
